Stock Market Closing Bell | Mumbai: The domestic stock market indices ended with gains on Tuesday. Indices, which opened flat in the morning amid mixed international cues, soon slipped into losses. Profits are on the rise due to purchases. Indices were particularly successful with buying in banking sector shares like ICICI Bank, SBI and HDFC Bank.
The Sensex opened the morning flat at 80,037 points (previous close 80,005.04). It soon slipped into losses and touched a low of 79,421. The index later touched an intraday high of 80,450.. Finally ended at 80,369 with a gain of 363 points. Nifty also increased by 127 points and settled at 24,466.
Shares of SBI, ICICI Bank, NTPC, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, Adani Ports and Axis Bank gained in SEXX 30 index. Shares of Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Sunpharma, Indus Ind Bank, M&M, Bharti Airtel and Infosys lost. While the price of a barrel of Brent crude oil is trading at 71.95 dollars in the international market. Gold continues at $2,763 an ounce.
